Agent Netherl. Trading Society

Dear Sir,
Enclosing duplicate of my last I have now for reply your two favors of the
24th & 30th ulto.
In regard to your Palembang Coton I can only say that every effort I made to
effect a sale has been unsuccessfull owing to the final crop of native
staple this year and the large stocks of imported cotton held here. To day
however I received a definite offer of R/s 17.20 – p.pcl. cash – but as
pursuant to instruction contained in your favor of 31st Oct., I had handed
all your Mdse in my hands ? to Messrs. Weber Leysner & co. of this, I
could only refer the party wanting to purchase to them.
I have given Messrs. W.L. & Co., all your goods taking their receipt
therfor – and all the particulars of the same in my possession referring
them to you for future instructinos – as per enclosed p.c. of my
letter to them, all which I trust in satisfactory.
I have at last discovered that a Japanese - in some way connected with Mr.
Mees’ former Banto, has in his possession some R/s 3,700; same being part
proceeds Mr. Mees’ shipment of Rice & Surume per Junk from Sado.
